Until the night that the rains washed away the countryside and a feeble old woman knocked upon the door.
From there, you know the rest of the story. A curse was placed upon him to show his true form. A beast unmatched by those of ancient mythos. Horrible to look upon, hateful to see -- he locked himself away and awaited for the one who would set him free.
She came and she loved but this where the fairy tale ends.
The night that he needed her, she refused. The magic that bound him thus bounded her and she was transformed into a beautiful rose. A rose as a lovely as she could have been.
